Something You Positively Have to See: Nicholas Bredimus

Published on January 29, 2010

A major improvement in hospitality and airline travel was triggered by Mr Nicholas Bredimus, who combined them with the programming industry to produce something new. This creative man has been involved in a number of areas, from the luxury home design industry via the essentials of safety in the air to software programs to save time and resources. And, in each case, his passion is clear. Looking at Mr Nicholas Bredimus‘ family tree anyone could predict he was certain to reach the top. With roots back into ancient history, in fact Bredimus’ lineage can be linked to a great part of Europe. From his mother’s side he descends from German and Scottish lines. An equally wide blend stands out in the paternal line — previous to coming to America in the late nineteenth century, Bredimus’ antecedents dwelt in England and Luxembourg. And following arrival in the United States, the family maintained its drive and determination to reach the top. Growing up part of a family of seven siblings — four girls and three boys — Nicholas had a father who worked as a mechanical design engineer and a mother who worked as a nurse. Bredimus went on to dwell in Texas for several years and also spent time in Kansas City, MO, Scottsdale, AZ and Reston, VA.

He’s worked in high-powered roles with firms throughout the air travel sector — the majority of them huge brands. These included the VP post for Republic Airlines, Hughes Airwest, and Trans World Airlines (TWA). An inventive software programmer, his pioneering designs for airline computer programs are probably his trailblazing legacy.

He is best known for one project for US Airways, namely his aircraft maintenance computer programs that come into use by the majority of airlines. He turned his creativity next to recording and taking reservations. For both flight and room bookings he developed software to handle much of the work required before automation. Expanding into a third tech sector, he designed a networked system to assist in selling tickets — once more producing a killer application no one else had thought of. Although it is his specialty, Nicholas Bredimus often worked in areas not connected to software. He managed American Express’ IT wing, initiated Bredimus Systems seventeen years ago, and became the inaugural president of AMR Travel Services.

Right now, though, Mr Nicholas Bredimus has departed from his airline connections and from programming, though rest assured he’s still making best use of his abilities. Presently, you can look for his work in high-priced homes that feature some of the latest environmental and smart technologies on the market.
